Lydia’s Death

The diary of Joshua Hempstead describes the death of Lydia Munsell.

"Goodee Munsell drownded accidentally.... Lydia Munsell aged about 80 was buried between meetings. She hath been a widow above 20 years. She accidentally fell into a well of Jos Minors son of Clement Minor where she lived. A shoal well about 2 feet deep one arm in the well & down to ye bottom ye other arm out her head part in the water & part out & so drownded."
